The government's flaghsip health insurance scheme for the poor has generated greater demand from women who tend to neglect their health because of financial reasons, a gender study by the labour ministry has showed. In the second year of implementation of the rashtriya swasthya bima yojana, or RSBY, the number of women availing hospitalisation benefit has exceeded that by men.
